KX2 presents Two Feet High and Rising, an exhibition that addresses the critical challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability.
This exhibition addresses the interconnected issues of water quality, overdevelopment, air pollution, and the fragile balance of our environment. Featuring works created from repurposed and salvaged materials, Two Feet High and Rising underscores the urgency of these challenges.
At its core, the exhibition includes works from the Obstruction Series, which examine humanity’s dependence on the hidden networks of utility pipes that underpin modern life. These systems, essential for delivering clean water and sustaining urban infrastructure, are under increasing pressure from climate change, pollution, and population growth. Through a blend of high-polished metals and painted, cut-canvas installations, these pieces create a striking visual contrast that reflects the tension between the beauty of design and the fragility of function.
The exhibition also features sculptural installations of freestanding polished stainless steel beams covered with discarded beach debris at varying heights to illustrate projected levels of water rise. These evocative sculptures serve as a stark reminder of climate change’s tangible impacts, urging viewers to reflect on rising sea levels and the necessity of collective action.
Two Feet High and Rising is a powerful exploration of the environmental challenges we face today, encouraging viewers to confront the consequences of human activity and the urgent need for sustainable solutions.
